My 17 year old niece is giving birth to a baby girl in a month's time. She has expressed to me that she really wanted to keep the baby but because her mother nor her is not financially and physically able to care for the child themselves they wanted to give up the baby for adoption and chose me because they want the child to be adopted by family so as not to cut their ties to the child.

When I was approached by them about the baby my heart told me that this was a blessing. The prospect of having another baby and being a Mom again was exciting. I am a happy single mother of a 4 year old boy and we are both excited about expanding our little family. My son and I are having a ball preparing for the baby. I am a little afraid tho... there are a lot of complications when you adopt a relative and I want to know where I can get support and parenting advice online. I live in the Philippines so groups and organizations are hard to find.

I think this is a great place for information. Relative adopted does come with a few more issues but they can be worked out.
