Little back story. My sister didnt tell any1 she was pregnant til i figured it out when she wah about 6 mo. My husband and I decided to take the baby cuz she knew she couldnt take care of him. I went to all the dr appt., picked his name and was even in the delivery room when he was born. I got the other parent bracelet too. Even though we've had him from birth we got gaurdianship of him at 4 mo. Which was a good thing cuz he has a medical condition. he is now a pretty healthy vibrant 5 yr old. I just went to court for the status of estate and the judge suggested we adopt him then we wouldnt have to go through this every 3 yrs. My sister now lives in FL and has agreed to the adoption but i have no idea where to start. Will it be much easier cuz we've had custody of him for so long and will her living in another state prove to be difficult for paperwork and such?
Any help is greatly welcomed |

Have had similiar experience with my son. We had to go through an adoption attorney to adopted him. That is usually the best place to start. He/She will know all the paperwork and legal steps necessary to make it official.
Best of luck! |
