Red face Adopting my Nieces Baby

I was just informed that my adult niece is pregnant. She knows the bf and neither of them wants a baby. She said from the time that she found out that she wanted the baby adopted since she did not want to repeat her mothers mistakes. She knows she is not equipped to be a mother (disability due to birth complications). She asked my Mother is we would be willing to raise the child and adopt it. When we were asked, we said certainly we would be interested. We have a 16 year old son and have been unable to have another. We had given up this past year in thinking about other children. We are both 39. Our son is OK with the idea, and several family members are vey supportive.
I don't know where to begin. I live in California and she lives in Texas. This would be a great neice and I do not know the California law or the Texas Law, but I know I need a Lawyer.
Is there anyone out there who has adopted in Southern California that could give me some advise?

I believe, in the state of California, a great neice would be considered a relative adoption which is a little easier. Is there anyway she can deliver in your state. Otherwise, I think an interstate compact would be needed. I would contact an adoption attorney to get further info on how to proceed.
