Questions on Money type help when Adopting
I'm the foster parent for two lovely young girls who are waiting while dhr goes through and works with different family members looking for one who is stable enough and willing to take the girls and hopefully adopt them.
Only one family member seems interested at all, but her only concern is that she and her husband wont be able to provide financially for the girls. The oldest, almost 13, has Cerebal palsy and requires verry involved parenting and supervision as well as many doctor appointments and close monitoring of seziurs(sp?). She receives an SSi check monthly to help pay for these type things but i was wondering if there is any assistiance offered when adopting a special needs child from within the family. I have the feeling that this family member could provide for the girls but is looking for something to help them feel more stable and financially "padded" when caring for them. Does anyone know of any type of assistiance that is available to family when adopting one of their own, especially a special needs child with a sybling. Thanks, -alle- |
