Adoption to family member

My parental rights have been terminated after a very exhausting fights with social services. Throughout the duration of the case, both my mother and my sister were interested in adopting my 1 year old son. However, not until the day of the termination hearing did the social worker inform me that the home study on my mother was never even done. NOt only that she will not disclose the reason. As to my sister, the judge did mention the possibility of her being able to adopt and said there would be another hearing in 90 days. The foster parents are wanting to adopt my son!! Ironically, I cannot get anyone to return my call, not even my attorney, who is out of town until mid November. What is happening? Will my sister be able to adopt, do the foster parents (who want no contact with me ever) get my son, do I appeal the courts decision. Please help, I do not want to lose my son for the rest of our lives. I was truly hoping the adoption with my family would be approved. What do I do and who do I need to be talking to?

Re: Adoption to family member

We are going thru a similar situation where the mom does not seem to care for the girl we have in foster care. She has her sister trying to adopt the baby girl that knows us like mom and dad. I feel for you. In this situation of mine I feel helpless too. The sister has never been there for the baby girl nor took her into foster care when offered in the begginning. What do we do? --Jeremy in CA
