Adopting my sister
Ok, I'm only 15 years old right now, and I'll be 16 in January. But, I want to adopt my little sister when I turn 18. I've done a little searching, and I found that both of her parents have to give up parental rights so that I would be able to adopt her, and I know that her mother would give up her parental rights, but I'm not sure that her father would. Her father is the reason I want to adopt her, because she is being raised by him, and I don't like it at all. She is in some horrible conditions, and it is very important to me that I get her out. Could anyone tell me how I could get started with this? Any ideas? Thanks!

What you need to adopt your sister
If you belive the person raising her is unfit but will not give up parental right you have to find a way to prove to the courts that he is unfit. THen social services will get involved if you prove fit she will be placed in your home and you will have to keep in contact with social services until his rights are terminated and then apply for adoptin of your sister if the courts approve your app then you will get full custody. Thou the chances are silm because you will only be 18 if you were 21 it would make things easier.
My prayers are with you Adopt a sister |
