Young and pregant for the 2nd time

This is my first time posting a new thread, so please be patient
with me. I have been reading for a short time and I think
this is the best. the support people get here is great.
My counsin is pregnant she is very young and has a 2 yr old
boy. She lives at home and her mom supports her and her
son. She wants to keep her baby but she is not sure it will
be possible she does not have Insurance and she just does not
know what to do. She is in Houston, Tx and I was just kinda
hoping if there is any advise that might help her.

Choices

Is her mother supportive of her keeping the baby? How old is she? Is she thinking about putting the baby up for adoption?
There are counseling agencies in Texas that may be able to help.
Bottom line she has to follow her heart and do what is best for the baby. I have been single and pregnant and I considered putting my child up for adoption. In the end I choose to keep him. I was a single parent for eight years during that time I got a college degree and a job. I am now married and my son is fourteen. We are in the process of adopting a child who is four and we also have a two year old.

Cool

Her mother does not know what she wants her to do. I know
my cousin wants to keep the baby. She has a job but does not
make enough to raise one child more less two. She called
Medicaid but they told her she has to show a bill in her name
she lives at home and has no utilties in her name so she
is really depressed at the moment. I want to find a way to help
her I am not sure what I can do.
The father of the baby is not happy with her for keeping the
baby, he wants her to have an abortion and she refueses
which I am very Thankful for.

Insurance...

Erm...

Her children have a right to be insured I think. Does she pay living expenses to her mother? Rent, bills, etc?

I live with my boyfriend and all I needed was a notarized letter stating how much I pay to live there and that utilities are included.

I make too much for Medicaid. I had to get CHP which is for children. Different states tack on their initials so Louisian is LaCHP. MCHP (I think) in Mississippi.

It Is possible for her. but Medicaid workers aren't always the most friendly. The best info I got was from the Head of program in our county.

Good luck

Maia

Have her mom put one bill in her name. Such as the cable bill. How old is she, because that makes a big difference as to what she can do. If she is young enough she should be able to get medical insurance through the state. Also if nothing else, she can set up payment plans and only pay like $5 a month on things. If there is a will, there is a way.
