Smile Looking for a little advice-NY adoptees!!

Hello everyone. This is my first post (of my own) and I would like to introduce myself. I was born on April 14, 1981 in Watertown, NY. I do not know the name of the hospital, or the adoption agency. I think the agency was in Ogdensburg NY. (I think it may have been Catholic Charities, but that is just a guess at this point) I am in the process of registering with the NYS Adoption Registry, and I was curious if anyone has had any luck with that? Also, when you had your application form notarized, does it matter that I live in Indiana now? I will be in NY in July, but I would like to get the ball rolling sooner. If any other adoptees from NYS have any advice for me, please share. I am just beginning and I am so confused. Thanks in advance!

I live in NJ now, but I registered with the NYS Adoption registry, and found my bparents. So I don't think it matters where you currently live.

I live in NY, registered about 2 months ago. I got a letter about 6 weeks after I sent the letter in and they gave me a case number. So, Don't expect anything to happen quick. I was adopted from Catholic Charities also, but they wouldn't give me any information.

I am from NY as well. I sent in for the non identiflying info as well and the identifing. I got the non id.. which only helped a little. they dont have much info. but they do send you the info rather quickly and you get a case number. i have recently moved and told them my new address and just got a letter back that there is no new info and that my new address is on file.. so depending on what the info says i think for some it can be VERY helpful..
good luck!!
