Congratulations to all! Seems like everyone here is "expecting" but me! Hope you won't abandon our little thread as you make your way to more high-exposure ones. Boo-hoo! I'll miss our little boy chats if you do!

LOL, no I won't abandon our thread!

Today, during church, my 5 year old was laying on the pew and has his head in my lap. My 2 year old climbed up on my other leg and laid down on top of the 5 year old! Neither one complained or made noises, so I just left them that way. It was cute, wish I had a camera (although I guess that wouldn't be appropriate during church).

My Someone, I don't plan on going anywhere! Just FYI I am not expecting either...I so wish.

I have been rather slow getting the Christmas tree down. My 2 year old was trying to get superman to fly thru the tree and he got stuck. My dh thought it was awfully quiet and went to check on him. He had started to take the tree apart to get to superman. Guess I have no reason not to finish what he started....lol

Yeah my 6 year old goes back to school tomorrow. But I think he is more excited than I am.

whew!

Glad to hear it's your intention (Michelle, Leigh, Ani and all others) to stay connected here!

I just walked downstairs to my living room after spending some time on the phone with my son's birth grandmother. Anyway, I have an antique hooked rug hanging over my fireplace. Something didn't look right about it...

When I examined it closer I noticed it had a half-dozen neon orange Nerf darts stuck to it.

Guess H couldn't reach high enough to retrieve them after he shot them, so he moved on without a care as to how I'd react!

Love it; love him!

Donna

((((((Michelle))))))))) If you and dh are even thinking about adopting again, then you can count yourself as expecting. I don't count myself as that yet. I haven't even spoken with the agency, no one answer the phone so I just left a message. Got to get through the paperwork first. If it's like normal, it will take dh's parents FOREVER to send in their part and his boss even longer! Yikes! These people don't realize we CAN'T have kids w/o them filling out their stuff.

I know it's all in God's hands and in His timing, too.

I am home with a sick kid.

His school nurse called me on Friday saying his tummy hurt and I needed to come get him. I brought him home and he ran a fever the rest of the day but was fine on Saturday.

Today, RIGHT before school got out the nurse called again. He was supposed to have after school string class (he's learning to play the cello) but he was in the nurses office again. This time she said his stomache was distended (is that right? swollen is what it was) and that I should take him to his doc.

I get to the doc office and he starts screaming. I mean, shrill, loud, everyone looking screaming! Then he started throwing up. If he'd thrown up earlier I would have saved my co-pay! Of course, he has a stomach virus.

Poor little guy! He's starving and I can't let him eat tonight.

Ani hope he was feeling better today. Never fun to have a sick child. But amazing how quick children can rebound.

Take care!

He is fine today and driving his brother (and possibly his mother) crazy! If he is symptom free for the rest of the evening, he will go back to school tomorrow.

I hope this isn't going to become a habit. Get some kind of stomach thing for half a day and then be ok. I know half a day is not bad for a stomach bug, but goodness, it keeps happening every few days! If it happens again soon I am calling his doc ack to see what is going on!

bajj we went thru this last year with my oldest son. He would get sick every 4 days or so. He would feel bad during the night and then be fine by noon the next day. We finally took him to the doctor and he said to start by cutting all dairy from his diet. We cut dairy and he was fine from that point on. He can now have one dairy item a day. He takes bottled water to school to eat with his lunch. He can a bowl of ice cream or yogurt at home but that is it. I am not saying that this is your sons problem but it sure made a difference for us.

Sure hope he continues to feel great.

Aww...all the sickness. Hope everyone's on the mend.

I feel like one or the other of us is sick almost every week. Either colds, flu, ear infections...and we just heard that the boy who H shares his bus seat with has the chicken pox. That's ALL we need.

Of all the thoughts and dreams I had about parenting, I never considered constant sickness I'd be facing. And it's the absolute WORST when YOU feel bad. Tough luck, mom! You've gotta muddle through until Hubby gets home from work.

But just when you're ready to throw in the towel, your feverish baby boy will raise his head from your shoulder, look you in the face as if to say, "Oh, thank goodness YOU'RE still here", and snuggle back into the crook of your neck as if it's the softest pillow in the world.

Hang in there....
