Its been awhile since anyone has posted here but I felt the need with what happened today.

My 6 year old son for the last two years has said he wants to be a weatherman. Now how many parents can say that their 6 year old wants to be a weatherman. Usually you hear about firemen, policemen, doctor and so on. So we helped him with his report to present to his class. My husband helped put together all the weather maps, temperatures, and 5 day forcast. His teacher was so impressed with the report and how he presented the entire project. I am the proud mom of a future weatherman who will be famous on the local tv station...She even took his picture when he presented his forcast today in class. Can you see that I am a proud mom...lol

Then there is the 2 year old who in the same day decided to flush yellow rubber ducky down the toilet...but thank heavens he was to big to go down the toilet...lol In the same breath he was hiding Christmas presents in his bed...didn't matter that they were not his. I wondered why the tree was looking rather empty underneath...lol

So boys will be boys all in different ways. Keeps us all hopping no matter what they may do.

Awww, how sweet! It's neat that he's interested in weather! It is such a fascinating thing, I mean, look how fast it changes! I can see how that would be very interesting to a six year old. How cute!

I understand with the 2 yr old. So far he hasn't gotten into our packages. I've let him know they are big no nos and so far he doesn't really seem interested.

Yesterday was my 2 yr olds day for major, major tantrums!!!! Yikes!!!!!!

Have a great weekend!

My son seems to be more inclined towards the "sanitation" industry...either a bus-boy or a garbage man!! lol, That kid will wander around Tim Hortons, looking for people's garbage to throw out.....and the garbage truck? omg, is there anything cooler? lol

Here lately, mine seem to be inclined toward boxing, or wrestling, or anything combative! At least, with each other! Today they were using the empty tubes from wrapping paper as light sabers. They were also playing . They are so excited about Christmas that I'm thinking they're gonna me right up the wall! LOL! I do enjoy their enthusiasm!

My 2 year old absolutely freaks when we drive by someone's house and their blow up snowman, or santa, or snow glove or whatever they have is laying flat in the yard. He starts yelling, "Mommy, stop! Uh-oh! Fix! Fix!!" I have gotten to where I just tell him it's asleep and will wake up later. It's cute, that's for sure! (althought I must admit after the 20th time on one trip I just want to pull my hair out!)

Leigh, my 5 yr old is NOT a Santa fan! LOL! He never has been.

My youngest son sat in "Santa's" lap at church yesterday afternoon (children's party) and you could tell he didn't know what to think. We forgot our camera so a friend took the pic for us. I can't wait to see it! LOL!

Your son would think it's Christmas here. My dh put up our lights on Saturday. The boys love it and want them on all day!

How old is your son?

*edited to add: I just noticed your signature! You're adopting again! Congratulations and I hope you don't have to wait too long!

Aaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!

Where's the emoticon for pulling out your hair?????????????????? Can we say AAAAAHHHHHHHGGGGGRRRRRRR???????????

Oh boy has it been one of those days, and dh has "guys night out" tonight, so I get the kiddos all to myself. Yipee! Don't get me wrong, I love them to pieces. We've just had, well, one of those days.

My 5 yr old lied to me about not getting strikes at school (strikes are their warnings...it's a mark by their name, and he got 2 yesterday and lied to me until I found out today). My 2 yr old refused to come get in the van when it was time to go pick up the 5 yr old. So, I got in and pulled out of the garage and into the drive way (btw, I would NOT have left him) and he came running out screaming, "wait mommy, wait!" So of course, I felt like a horrible Mom then.

Well, we get home a little while later and he refuses to come in. I decided to see if it would work again. I came into the house and started closing the garage door. I was not going to let it go far so no chance of it hitting him. Anyway, it didn't work. He went out into the yard and I had to chase him down and he was laughing the whole time! Let's just say, when we came in, he wasn't laughing anymore. GGGGRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

I celebrate my boys, and yet...I need some ALONE time today!!!! Maybe I'll go lock myself in the bathroom.

I have 6 childrenm 4 of them boys, and I can say with all certainty, that even with the bugs, rocks, army men and lego's that end up in the washer and end up breaking the washer, that boys are so much easier! Just an fyi if your washer starts to sound like it's washing broken glass, call the repair man super quick, it means the lego's, armymen and rocks have somehow managed to get down under the basket and are tearing up your motor! Where the girls will scream if a ladybug crawls across the floor, the boys want to get a magnifying glass and see how it flies. With the girls everything is drama, and the boys are sooo laid back. I celebrate all of my children, but all of these boys stories have reminded me of a few from when mine were younger. (Oldest is 18, then 16, 13 and 2) WHen the 13 yo was 3, his brothers taught him that if you hit the garage door opener and run and grab ahold of the garage door, you can ride up, only they forgot to tell him to let go before you get to high. Twice he did this and both times forgot to let go. DO you have any idea what it's like to see you 3 yo hanging in the air, gripping the garage door by fingers and toes??
When he was 2 he decided to play hide and seek, and didn't tell anyone. After dashing thru the house and street and on the verge of a nervous break-down and calling the police, my oldest son yells outside where I am becoming hysterical "WE found him Mom, he was in the washing machine!" with the lid closed I might add.
The 2 older boys at 4 and 5 were sent inside for showing their penis's to the neighbor girl, who had a brother so didn't understand her need to see theirs. Anyway, I asked why they did it, and they said she said she'd show hers. By this time, I'm ready to fall on the floor laughing, but just had to ask, Did she show you hers? and they both wailed "Only HALF!!!" Then I ran out of the room laughing my head off.
Our 2 yo is in a buzz lightyear stage right now. HE has buzz footie jammies and I have the darnedest time getting them off of him to dress him. But they are better than the girls Cinderella's dresses he's been wearing of late, much to Daddy and big brothers horror.
I have also found out that even with 3 big brothers and a Daddy, a 2 yo boys favorite wrestling partner is his Mommy!
Yes they do grow way to fast, I can remember when my oldest was born and thinking about how old I'd be when he was 18, and thinking that was a lifetime away, now it's less than a month away and has gone oh so fast!!!
SOns and daughters are both special in their very unique ways, our girls are the odd couple, Oscar and Felix, but our two older boys are Oscar and Felix as well. Our 4 yo daughter, while not into bugs, does pick up every rock, or stick or leaf or acorn and give it to me to keep with her treasures. The 5 yo is completely horrified if dirt so much as deems to cross her path. The 4 yo will find every available puddle and start out jumping it, and if I'm not careful will end up rolling in it. I can honestly say none of my boys did this. It is amazing to me how the girls and boys, while not biologically related, can possess so many of the same traits.
I guess I'm having empty nest syndrome these days. My oldest son will be going off to college in less than a yr and I'm not ready for it. But I know he is. He Is a kind, caring responsible young man, and I know that I played a big part in his development.
So grab all of the hugs and kisses, from both your sons and daughters, because when you have little ones in the home time passes at lightspeed and before you know it they're off to college. Shelley Mom to 6 amazing children
