Why do you suppose it is....

THat your child, can go weeks, months even without spilling their drink, but THE SECOND you give them a red drink, fruit punch in this case, they spill it all over everything? Murphy's law? The law of averages?
If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all?????
Calgon take me away!!!
Hope everyone is having a good week, Shelley

Lol Shelley! Hope the spill wasn't on something really bad. Oh like furniture. Our poor sofa is so covered with stains. Not counting the carpet. We rent a carpet cleaner atleast every six months to clean. But just can't keep up...lol Your oldest son (of course all of your children) must be very talented. Congrats in all of his achievments and his future. As we will celebrate the achievements of your other children.

Shelley...spa...how awesome! Glad you enjoyed YOUR time!

Donna....I hope your son has had a wonderful time celebrating his birthday. It is so important to enjoy those moments for him and for you. They just grow up way to fast.

Ani I see that your survived your trip to the inlaws...lol

Okay, our weather has been awesome the last few days. So we spend more time outside to play. I turned around while cleaning out the flower beds and garden to find little M eating dirt. Great, he is saying yummy mommy. I am saying its yucky. Spit it out. Then realized that he is being told not to spit because we decided spitting is fun no matter where you are or what you are doing. So I just said spitting is okay. I had to do some fast talking to make him understand that dirt is bad, spit, but spitting in general is bad. Like a 2 1/2 year old is going to get that...lol

I will try to post pictures of the boys in their karate outfits this weekend. They are just to cute. I always tell little M that he looks so cute when he is in his before going to class so the other nite he told his big brother before his class that he looked cute.

You all have a great week!

Michelle

Exciting news!!!

Yesterday Alex heard from Bentley College that he had been accepted and was being given a scholarship for over $15,000. a yr. He also heard from Northeastern, his Dad's Alma Mater, that he has been accepted there with an $8,000. yr scholarship. He was accepted to University of Mass at Amherst last week, BUT THE REALLY BIG NEWS IS......... He was ACCEPTED to the Air Force Academy. He got the admissions package in the mail today!!! WAY TO GO ALEX!!!!
As much as I'd prefer that he went to Boston University, provided of course he's accepted, The academy is what he really wants and yes it is his life!!!!! So please join David and Me in congratulating Alex on all of his spectacular accomplishments, but most especially on his acceptance to the Air Force academy, where only 15% of the applicants are accepted every yr. We are so proud of Him!!! Shelley

Funny things

We were eating lunch with my parents when the waitress asked my 5 yr old what kind of fries he wanted (meaning regular or seasoned). He very calmly looked up at her and said, "French." LOL!

My FIL what calling my 2 yr old Mr. (insert last name here) the whole time we were there. Well, my 2 yr old looked at him and said, "Papaw (insert last name here), I gonna call you MAN." And he did from then on! If he wanted to talk to his Papaw, he said, "Hey man."

We took the kids to the 2nd largest underground lake in the world. Obviously, it's in a huge cave. After walking through the whole thing, and we were almost to the exit, my 2 yr old decided he was scared. My 5 yr old looked at him and said, "Don't worry, it's all fake anyway!" I think we FINALLY convinced him that the rocks, the stalagmites, stalagtites and all the other stuff really is real!

On the very looooong trip back home, my 2 yr old got excited when he saw a rocket (yes, a real one) on the side of the highway. He picked up his toy cell phone and "called" Grandmama. He got so mad at her because she didn't answer! He kept yelling, "Grandmama, Grandmama!!!" He was rather angry with her, but he got over it!

Ahhh, kids, you gotta love them!

Shelley, pass on my congrats to your son! Sounds like he's made himself a real commodity: lots of options, lots of interest from different places wanting him! So great!

Ani, your stories really made my day! I just love it when they are first talking. I've got a notebook full of funny things H said when he was starting to talk. Boy, is your little guy on the ball. And clever too! He really "got it" with Grandpa!

I'm still recuperating from yesterday's family birthday party for H. Yeesh. Why do I spend 2 days cleaning when 1) no one notices and 2) it's all back to square one within a matter of hours. Now I have to go put back all the stuff I put away to make room for the company, do laundry, etc.......I'm so tired!!!! And getting a cold. Boo hoo.

Hope the weather is as nice where you are as it is here - hey, that reminds me. I think Michelle and her family are here in Chicago. I'll invite her back in February and see what she's REALLY made of!

We are already using the AC here!

I forgot to mention something else my boys said. My 2 yr old said, "Mommy, I want baby." My 5 yr old then said, "Yeah, I want one too, Mommy, just make sure you get a girl this time!"

Apparently they really enjoyed their baby cousins!

Lol Bajj! My oldest is always asking when
he is going to have a little sister too.

My oldest was playing with the next door neighbors son who is 5 and our youngest wanted to go too. I told him that he could not but soon he would have friends his age to play with. He then said mommy I want friends. Can we go find some lol.

Donna we leave on the train next Tuesday for Chicago. I think dh is more excited than the boys. We come back home Friday evening so we have 2 full days their plus we will see dh's brother and his wife and 3 kids (all 5 and under).

Donna feel better!

Chat later you all! Off to 2 meetings tonight! Have a good week everyone!!

Michelle

Have you seen the McDonald's commercials lately? My 2 yr old never calls it McDonald's anymore. Everytime he'd see the golden arches on the trip, he'd sing, "ba ba bum." Well, obviously you can't hear his cuteness, but I'm sure you get the picture.

Sorry, Michelle....

....that you're visiting Chicago on a cold, crummy day. We planned on going to the zoo, but I didn't want to chance the 60% chance of rain they are predicting. Even worse is the memory of the almost 80 degree days we had Sunday, Monday and (until noon) yesterday. YUCK. So I'm staying home and trying to catch up on PILES of stuff. Thank goodness for E 's naps and my husband's day off to watch H.

Ani, someone said to me once (I think it was a case worker at the agency) that there is nothing cuter than a 2 year old boy. I must agree. And your little guy proves it! I saw your pics on the other thread. Too cute!

Gotta go write my yearly agency letter for H. Sadly, his birthparents have never re-established contact or picked up any of the letters or pictures. I do it for them in case they come forward some day, but mostly for me and for my son. I don't have time to scrapbook, so this is a written word journal of his life instead of a visual one.

Take care, and dare I say it, stay warm.

Thanks my_someone. I think my boys are cute, too! They are definitely full of energy and boy I wish I had some!

I have been having a time with my back. It's bad enough that now my 2 year old is going around holding his back saying, "Oooo, my back hurt, my back huuuuurrrrrrttttt!!!!"

I think I'm going to have to break down and go to a chiropractor. Has anyone been to one? Do they really help?

O, I have a change of topic here...my mind is working a mile a minute today!

I was watching my 5 yr old getting ready for bed last night and after I sang to him, I came out here and just had tears streaming down my face. DH was like, "what's wrong hon?" I said, "he's growing up soooo fast!" It's so true! It's not that I don't love him how he is, I just want time to just slow down just a little bit. Let me hold him to him just a little longer. Oh, yesterday afternoon he actually sat in my lap for a long time while I read the Magic School Bus. The book completely grossed me out, oh, but holding my first born "baby" was worth it! Wow, they grow SO FAST! He's 5 1/2 and he's almost finished with K. I can't believe it!!!!!!

Did you ever know you could love such little people so much??? O wow, you know, the word love doesn't even describe the feeling right, does it?

Have a great day everyone. I'll try not to be so mushy next post. I'm not even pmsing!
