You don't always get what you want

May 27, 2005
Got a call late Friday afternoon from the social worker at Batshaw Adoption Services in Montreal.
They have been searching for my daughter and they said they had a contact number for her that was not in her name.
The social worker thought she would wait till Monday to make the call. I said no time like the present. If I was getting this news I would
rather have the weekend to digest it than get it on a Monday. I left it up to her.
She called back after a few minutes to say she made the call. Apparently this woman lives outside the country. She could not tell me where of course
but she left a message with the people at that number.
She will follow up next week if she has not heard back will call again and try to get a forwarding number.
So, it's still hurry up and wait but it appears we are getting closer.

Will keep you posted.

Cat.

Funny how those late Friday afternoon phone calls can really make or break your day no matter how much Power of Positive Whatever crap (correspondence, reports and papers) you have read.
You don't always get what you want, but you get what you need. My daughter is OK. She always knew she was adopted.
The social worker called to say my daughter had called her back. She has had an amazing family and a amazing life but wants to remain anonymous. She would however, like updated medical records. Hopefully she has not ended up with any of the family blessings.
Talk about lunch bag let down. I never considered this as a possibility.
I need to give this a little time to settle.

thank you all so much for your love, prayers and support.
I just know there has to be a pony under all this poop somewhere....
Will keep you posted if she has a change of heart.

love Cat
