looking for birth family

I was born in Lawrence, Ks on July 10,1970. I have more information that many start out with. The problem I am having is that I have had this information for 20years now and that is how long I have been looking. My search slowed down when I moved from home but picked up again once I was able to gain net access.
I am beginning to wonder if I am looking for a ghost. Any suggestions?

Snow - saw that no one has responded to you. I don't have any advice but wanted to tell you that for 35 years I was in denial and felt that I had not right to search and intrude on the life of my daughter. Your Mom may feel as I did - almost guarantee it. If she is not also searching for you, she may be hard to find. Have you thought of hiring a professional searcher. I have no suggestions there, just know they can be very successful as they are often licensed private detectives as well and can have access to records that the average person does not have access. They can be pricey, but I thing generall $3,000 or less for a true professional. There are also search angels out there as well that donate their time. The best of luck to you.

Thank you for the boost of confidence for I know that I must continue looking even through other sources. For I am only one person and can not do it all on my own. I tend to forget that there are others out there that can help.
Thank you for the reminder.

Snow-keep the faith! I posted all over this site looking for my daughter. I posted in the state she was born, the year she was born, every place I could think that she might look. I started posting May of 2005, and this last January, I found her! I had just about given up hope, and then I got an email. It was wild! If you don't want to (or can't afford to) hire some body, there are wonderful search angels that might be able to help. GOOD LUCK!

It is hard to give up when part of you is missing. I keep looking and nothing but brick walls. I will keep the faith in the search. I have a wonderful husband who is trying to help me in all this but I also know that it is hard for him to understand all of this. I know in my heart that one day it will pay off. Just wonder when sometimes.

Hey, I am an adoptee. Like you I had more information than most do regarding bparents and my adoption. I had first name and maiden name of bmom as well as 2 different married names (she had married twice and divorced). I knew what state I was adopted out of and what town. As far as bdad, I just had first and middle name, no last name. With the information I had, I first contacted the hospital I was born at and got all of my birth records. I am not sure how that will work with you being you've had this info for 20 years. My best suggestion, something that helped me quite a bit is to use a search angel if you haven't already. They are free (something I was grateful for seeing as money is tight here.) Here is the link to the search angel group that I worked with, MIRACLE WORKERS I tell ya!

Good Luck. I am happy to help if there is anything I can do. If you want, feel free to pm me any information you might have and I can see what I come up with.

I have registered with search angels and hope that something more shows up than what I have been able to come up with. Though I have been told of how my adoption was done growing up and have always thought it strange.
