first contact
This weekend I will take my daughters, 19 & 20, to meet their bfamily for the fist time. First contact was by phone last Saturday initiated by my oldest daughter who located the bfamily.
There are many factors which cause me concern. My daughters are each in the midst of other very stressful circumstances and in need of psychological counseling for those things. My daughters both prayed to ask Jesus into their lives early in their lives, but as teens have really not sought the Lord even though they attend church semi-regularly. They each have made huge compromises in the way they were taught and suffer some consequences as a result. We are all excited about the visit. Please pray that God will be able to use this time to further reveal himself to my daughters and that I might have wisdom in my role at this important time in their lives. Pray also that I will pray more than anything else and trust the heavenly Father to do what He desires in this time. I have prayed for the bfamily since adoption and have often prayed in my daughters presence and encouraged them to pray that the bfamily would come to know the Lord Jesus and be able to share in that larger family of faith. Thanks, ADad |

Your post brought a smile to my face. It's nice to see a parent's faith and love of God shining through to there children.
I will pray for God to bless your meeting. I will also be praying for you and your wishes. Laura - BMOM |

Just a quick note to say that the weekend went very well. All involved were quite pleased and even though it was very emotional for everyone, there was a great deal of healing.
We drove 14 hours non-stop (except for gas of course) sharing the driving duties. Arrived about 7am and slept for 4 hours before going to meet at the bmothers apartment. Spent about 4 hours together visiting and going out to lunch. A lot of looking at pictures, etc. Then I took everyone back to the apartment and I left them to spend some time without me. They called about 3.5 hours later and said they were ready for bed. Visited again for 6-8 hours on Sat & Sun as well before starting the long drive back. I know this is sparse, but I wanted to give a quick update. I will post a more complete report later. Thanks to all who prayed, ADad |
