Halloween photograph

Hello Everyone,

We have not had photographs in a while on the Polish forum, so I am attaching one of ours. This is our children's 1st Halloween in the U.S. and they are pretty excited about it! In Poland, costumes are only for the New Year's party and Carnival, so this is a bit different. All Saints is a pretty solemn occasion on the other hand. How did your children react to Halloween?

Your daughter makes a great princess! And I love her hair with bangs. Is your son a Ninja? I'm not up on current costumes/TV/movies

Our two young children had a party at their German kindergarten today. German's dress in "traditional Halloween" costumes (ghosts, devils, bloody stuff), so our kids went as a skeleton (glow-in-the-dark pajamas) and a witch. Our 5th grader has her first party at school tomorrow and will be "The Ultimate University of Michigan Fan" (and her teacher is a Ohio State fan). She was going to be a clown, but when I went to retrieve the costume from a used-only-for-Christmas-decorations storage room, there were wasps swarming on a two-foot wide wasp nest ---yikes!!! So that closed the door on finding her costume, though I tried to tell her she could wear the wasp nest and win the scariest costume award. We now need to find a wasp-removal expert.

Kama - I still have your PM from a few weeks ago and will write to you!!!!

Right now they are so excited about their costumes, trick or treating and candy. They are scared of scary costumes or scary decorations! I will let you know how they handle the actual day.

I will see if I can get some pictures here or on my blog of the boys in their superhero costumes.

LisArno-no problem, write when you can. The kids' Catholic school does not allow costumes that are too scary (and they cannot bring weapons), and I think witches are not allowed (not sure). Princess does not seem very Halloween-y, but well. She does look pretty good in it and likes it.

Uhg, wasps... I am sure she will figure something out.

Jessi-it would be great to see your pictures. Post here too, if you can!

Taia-thank you. They are cute and more importantly really good kids overall .

Here are a couple of more photographs (my sister is here and taking some really good ones ). The kids are 5 and 9.5.

Jessica - You have great super heroes! I read a bit more of your blog. My husband/I took our then 10 year old to "Amish Country" in Indiana this past summer. She really enjoyed that and asked some good questions about them.

Here are our three Jasmine, Cinderella, and a dragon. They LOVED Halloween. And asked pretty much the whole month of October when were we going to "start" Halloween. They were dissapointed that after the 31st it was over. One of their friends from school invited them to go trick or treating with her (her neighborhood is THE spot to trick or treat in our town). 45 minutes of trick or treat and their buckets were full and they were ready to go examine their candy. The dragon costume is better suited for cooler climates - our little dragon was roasting! The dragon sat on top of her head and didn't cover her face but she liked to pose so that you couldn't see her face at all - even though she insisted I paint her face purple to match the dragons color.
