over 50, Polish and Catholic...any suggestions?
I am 50, my husband is 40, and we live in Maryland. We're just starting this process after 7 years of trying. We'd like 2 (maybe 3) Caucasian children, as young as possible, but up to age 10 would probably be OK (ideally a girl and a boy). Husband is a UK citizen of Lithuanian descent. Any suggestions for agencies would be most appreciated. Speak a tiny bit of Polish - Dad was 1st generation - and am getting reacquainted with the Church after years of inactivity. Please PM me with any advice/suggestions...very grateful for these boards! Thanks so much!

Hi! Welcome to the board. I do not know of anyone personally trying to adopt from Poland at 50, but the rule is that the mother should be no more than 40 yrs older than the child. Of course, in your case your husband is 40 so that may change the case a bit. Still you should have a good chance to adopt a 10+ yr old child from Poland according to this rule. And, if you are open to a sibling group, than the group may include younger children too. I would say, it is worth trying but the best thing is to get in touch with agencies for Poland. I will PM you about that.

I am 48 and single. I am in the process of adopting 2 siblings, an 11 yo boy and a 9 yo girl. They are wonderful! Because you're married, you have a better chance. However, the oldest child in a sibling group may have to be 10+.
