We did it!
After a year in the process and a couple of referrals, we accepted a referral for a 1 year old girl from Poland!
We will keep the board informed on what happens from here on. We were told we might travel within the next six weeks.

Congratulations,
My wife and I just sent our completed documentation package to our agency. We're looking for 2 siblings under the age of 3, or 3 siblings under the age of 5. I guess we're in the waiting period that I've read so much about. Hopefully we will get a referral from Poland soon. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks, Mike

Mikeroz - What a pretty girl! By the time I've posted this, I hope you've already met your daughter.
Mike67 - My husband and I are also hoping for 2-3 children under the age of 5. The process is taking even longer due to a 'glitch' because my husband is not a US citizen.

Congrats and about adopting from Poland
Congratz Mikeroz and Family! Please do share if you got your little girl and how she is.
We are starting the process hoping to adopt 1 or 2 (siblings) children from Poland. We hope we will become family through adoption next year. That's our plan at least what life brings we will see. Has anyone adopted on their own from Poland, without agency? I speak Polish and still am a Polish citizen, we don't have enough $$ for agency (I can't believe it costs over $20 grand to adopt when Poland doesn't charge anything anyway!!!!). Any advise for the beginners in the process? Thank you all.

Doesnt Caritas still do adoptions? http://caritas.pl/index_pl.php Morze przez Archidiecezji ?? I am happy to know that we polish adoptees dont lose our beautiful heritage and culture just because of adoption. Good Luck.. Yvonne

Back From Poland!
I have been back from Poland for about a month now, and my wife and DAUGHTER got back a week ago. Everything is great. We spent about a month in Nowa Sol, a small town close to Zielona Gora in western Poland. Then it was back to Warsaw for about 3 more weeks.
All is well, I hope things go as well for others on this board as they did for us!

Wow- your daughter is stunning! Congratulations!!! I have been researching several countries but hadn't even thought about Poland until I read your entry. I think I'll do a bit of research. Any advice?
