Central PA

Is anyone located in Central PA? There are Pittsburgh and Philly groups.

I'm in West-Central PA, in Jennerstown, PA. Anyone from Altoona, Johnstown, State College, etc?

Gee, I'm feeling lonely here! I thought I'd tell a bit about myself this time. I'm a Lutheran Pastor serving two small, rural congregations in Somerset County (near where Flight 93 went down on 9/11). I am also the bmom of a (currently) 34 year old son with whom I've been in reunion since October 2005. I would love to talk to other members of the "adoption triad" who live in PA.

Hi! I knew there had to be someone else from this part of PA! I currently live in Jennerstown - sw of Lake Raystown. When the current dam was built we lived in Mt. Union in Huntindon Co. (I have a friend whose farm is under water now) My DH plays in the State College Community band so he's there every Wednesday night.

Adopting from Guatemala seems to be a difficult road (not that any adoption is easy!) At least you all seem to have a large support group!

Sorry...I'm not from Central PA, but I felt bad seeing all your bumps not getting any replies...

I'm from Pittsburgh, PA and the hubby and I are also adopting from Guatemala...a little boy (Joshua). That's him as my avatar!

I hope you hear from others in your area soon! If not, I'll be your Pittsburgh friend!

Thank you. I've been traveling to Pittsburgh a lot lately - Oakland anyway - to UPMC with a friend. What part of Pittsburgh do you live in?

We're in Chambersburg. I grew up in Hagerstown and lived in Waynesboro for a little over a year after moving back to the area from 8 yrs. spent in Louisville, KY. We're a clergy family too. DH has 3 churches in Huntingdon Co. I appreciated your story, thanks for sharing it, amazing the coincidences.

I know a number of adoptive families in this area but I don't think anyone is a member here, at least not as far as I know. We belong to a group of families that gets together about 2 times per year that adopted from Liberia. We meet again in about a month. I'm planning on mentioning this forum.

Nice "meeting" you!

I was born in Chambersburg. My husband and I lived for 25 years in Huntingdon Co. (In Mt. Union where he was the HS band director for 18 years). I have family in the Chambersburg/Shippensburg area. My bson's adad is now the pastor of the church where I grew up. (The world is full of coincidences.) Nice to meet you too.

Not still in central Pa but...........

I used to live near Williamsport, My bson's bmom still does, it took me many years to find her and now we talk a lot online, our son was adopted out of Williamsport in 1971, and we have both been looking for him for years, now we are looking together, there may be a chance he still lives there. if there is anyone in that area that can offer her or me any support or assistance it would greatly appreciated

Hi, lonelyinga. I generally get to the Williamsport area about once a year. Do you have any other info about your bson? I looked off and on for D, and found him as soon as I registered here, because he had also registered. One of the sad things for me is that his bdad died in 2000 so D will never get to know him.

I wish you luck in your search. I sort of stumbled onto D here, so I'm not much help in your search.
