Another Call
We got a call today for a 10 yr old boy - to do respite until his TPR appeal was over and an adoptive home could be found. I couldn't get a hold of my DH to see if he'd be willing, so had to say no. We got a call late last week about doing respite for a 12 yr old boy -- he again was a preadoptive child looking for a preadoptive home.
So I know our agency is getting placements..... Has anyone gotten any calls... you all have been quiet!

No, they don't because we don't take kids under 6 or 7. They must be school age. So yes, they are all older and they are only for respite, but altho they are respite they are preadoptive kids (meaning looking for adoptive homes not foster homes). Just wanted to make sure you all knew that they are getting calls, just may not be within your criteria!

We a 1 fs now. We told our cw we would be willing to take 1 more age 6 or under. She told us she has a need for homes for teen girls. We were asked to take a 12 yr old boy but, we are not prepared for children of these ages. We are not with the county so that may be why we have heard about older children only. We are also more than an hour from our agency.
