I was wondering what the requirements for domestic adoption in PA are? Also.. Are there income requirements, like with international adoption?

Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by requirements, but I'll tell you what we had to do.

First (of course) was a homestudy. We also had to get PA State Police background checks (can be done totally online) and child abuse clearance (form is online, but you have to send it in). We also had to get physicals and have the doctor fill out a form that said we were in good health, also a form for our employer to fill out. All of these things are required for the homestudy.

I'm not sure about an income requirements, for us the verification from our employers was good enough.

In PA, you are allowed to advertise. The only birthmother expenses allowed are medical, legal and counseling. The birthmother can sign no sooner than 72 hours after delivery, waiting period is 30 days.
