Lorraine, I'm just amazed that so much was withheld from you about your daughter's history. How can they expect you to effectively care for and advocate for a child when you don't know her history? I am impressed that you're holding it together despite all.
In the past few days I've talked to a couple of agencies, and both have told us not to count on getting a SWAN placement for a child under 8 years old, especially a girl, unless we go into the foster program. Then, of course, we would have to accept legal risk placements that might be reunited with their birth parents or placed with other relatives. We're not giving up on SWAN, but it's very discouraging. We are looking very seriously at international options.

Best Wishes to you Alison in your adoption journey! If you want a younger child and have the finances go international! I would love to but can't due to financial reasons! I been with SWAn for 2 years now, and finally had a interview last week for a child, now it's just waiting and seeing! Would be a nice xmas present!

Hi Thanks everyone! It has been a long wait! We finally got news yesterday, that they are sending us a picture of the child! Im kind of excited! Well we will have to wait and see what happens!
