Does anyone ever feel this way?
Do any other adoptive parents ever feel that parents with natural born children look at you differently? Almost like you don't have a clue as to what you are doing? Maybe I am just paranoid. Has anyone else ever felt this way?

I do think we're often regarded differently.
I don't necessarily think it's about not knowing what I'm doing though. My experience leans more toward a feeling that I had it too easy because I didn't have to "go through" enough. i.e. pregnancy, labor, etc. So I must not know what motherhood is really about. Hmmmm.....feels like I'm a mom at 3 a.m. while I'm changing a poopy diaper.... ![]() |

As a mom to bio-children, I personally do not look at adoptive parents differently.
As far as not having a clue, we have all been there, bio and adoptive parents. It is called being a first time parent. Heck I have two kids and I still go through periods where I do not have a clue, LOL!

No, I really don't, but then again, one of the benefits of being an older mom is that I KNOW darn good and well they don't know what they're doing either. ![]() Sorry, but in my book, if you are getting thrown up on, using your disposable income for their new toys instead of yours , changing diapers and waking up when they do, you are the mom, stretch marks nothwithstanding. |
