hair thinning

Hi everyone,

Being a first time mommy I just thought I would ask you all if you would be concerned.

Emma was born with a beautiful head of black hair, the older she is getting the lighter her hair is getting, it now has a redness tone to it. She also had thick hair, which is really starting to thin out. It is not like it is falling out in bunches or anything like that but it is thinner than it was a few weeks ago for sure.

She was at the doctors on Monday and get a complete bill of health. She also had a bunch of test done when she first came home from Guatemala to test for parasites etc. She is gaining weight (she is in the 50th percentile) and growing (75th percentile for height). So then what is my issue?

Her hair is getting very thin. She never lost her baby hair at the age when most babies do. But seems to be doing it now. I asked the doctor and he said there was nothing to worry about she could be rubbing her head at night when she sleeps and she will outgrow it. It still concerns me.

She is 9 months.

Does anyone have any experience with similiar situations or advice?

As always, thank you for your time and help!!

Lori

Baby hair loss

My children were born with beautiful black hair like their Asian daddy, and when they were 6 mos. to 1 year old, it all went away and they got new hair between like 9 mos. and two years old. I really don't think you have to worry. It seems perfectly normal to me.

Sincerely,
