We talked with our child about what they wanted to tell.
He really did not want to talk about it. So what we said and he said was His parents were not able to take care of him, (end of discussion) and we changed the subject. We also let him know that this is a new, unknown, uncomfortable subject and some concerned people may say very hurtful things without even realizing what they are saying.

Some adults will just try to pry information from the child.
Grrrr... I told him if that every happened, not to give out any information that he was not comfortable giving and to come get me! (Big Momma Bear!!!)

People can say some really thoughtless things, but I think it is an uncomfortable subject for most people and they do not know WHAT to say. One that got me was a person in our church saying she could not do what I was doing and she could not love a child that was not hers biologically..and said it like EVERYONE was supposed to feel that way.
