older child adoption, how to write annonment

Let me clarify...we did have a celebration, but everyone close to us knew the situation already. So we just sent invitations to the adoption party, calling it just that. We didn't want alexandria (our daughter) to feel she wasn't a valuable part of the family until that day. I think if you state just exactly what it is "adoption day" and make it more a celebration of the child other than the adoption, it will be better for your child. good luck and congratulations.
