Hi,
I am about to become an " out of bith-order auntie" My neice, Lissa was adopted from the Ukraine ao 10 months old in 2001 and is an extrordniinary child, who is doing very well. My sister is committed to going to Russia to adop an older child, so that Lissa will have a big sister. I am concerned about my sister and my neice! Are there places, articles, and or people that any one knows of, "virtually out there", that I can learn from?If so could you please post your ideas? Thank You! Thanks, Pia: ( which is my neice's name for me) |

"out of order"
Generally, an out of order adoption really does not present any insurmountable problems. The child will react as to the addition of a new sibling. The child will have to adapt to a change in status/role/position. And, of course, there will be issues activated from the child's past regarding siblings, sharing, parenting, etc. But, generally, this is not a huge issue to worry about.
