cheaper by the dozen-NOT
i just thought i would let everyone know we welcomed #12 home last week. he was born on 1/15/07. i got to hold him immediately after birth. what an amazing experience. birthparents signed tpr's on the 17th and there is no revoc. period in our state, so he is all ours. it is so fun having a new baby in the house again. my teenagers are over the top in love with him, as well as everyone else. i fell in love with him the moment i first touched him. now that we have added bottles, swings, binkys, diapers, to our house it really is a zoo and i dont even care right now. i have mostly been sitting on the couch with my 3yo and cuddling all day long. i know this will only last a short time and i better enjoy it. anyone think i should go for a bakers dozen?

congratulations! Oh, I would love to have a baby. Seems pretty rare to get a baby around here - especially if you have kids in the home already - how did you get so lucky?
Was this a child from the state adoption program? I have questions about how many kids your state allows families to adopt - but I'll save that for another thread.

we did private adoption. we used a facilitator to find us a match and then laywers to handle all the legals. our bmom loved that we had so many kids and her baby would have lots of sibs to play with. it wasnt the cheapest route but i really wanted a newborn this time around, so thats why we did it this way. our state doesnt have any limit on adopting, i guess. no one ever said anything to me about it anyway. i know i couldnt foster because of the amount of kids - i think the limit is 5 for fostering. i would love to have a bakers dozen - DH is not so sure about it. but he wasnt sure about this baby either, until about a month before he was born and now i see the love in his eyes and it is great. our bmom has placed 2 children so far, so maybe ill get a sib from her. i told her to contact me directly next time to avoid the facilitator fee - lol!
