Panama adoption- psych info?
Hi all,
My husband and I are considering adopting independently from Panama, and would appreciate it if someone who's been through it could give detailed information about the psychological tests, etc., required. We have a friend who's a licensed psychologist willing to help, but want to be able to tell her what we might need. Thanks! Lynn |

There really isn't a simple answer to this. From what we understand there is a law that states that you have to be healthy - body and mind but it is up to everyone's descretion along the way. I would wait until you were specifically asked to provide something before doing anything. We had to have a psych eval done in US with MMPI, a psych eval by the Dept of Children and Families in Panama, our judge ordered a government psych eval, and then as we were heading into the court room for our final hearing they led us to a room for yet another psych eval with someone from the court.

Thanks!
Thanks. Well, I guess we'll get at least the MMPI done here, and be ready for whatever comes!
