We Are Panama Bound!!!!!

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you all know what is happening with us right now. Well first we do have a court date of Oct.1. So we are to leave Sept. 23rd!!!!! We have had some things in our lives that have happened that effected us leaving for a long period of time. So we are going to try VERY had to get this done in a timely manner (ha ha, right) Well we need to get as much done as possible, because we really have no other choice. I have to add our social worker here in the states is being great helping us out with this and very understanding.
Ok, well I promise you all, I will post as often as I can and explain the entire process as we go through, the good the bad and the ugly. I can start with what we know, as of right now we are to leave Sept. 23 meet with someone to do the psych eval on the 24th, we will meet with our little guy at the orpahage for a few days and if transition goes well he will be placed with us at our hotel., during this time we will be waiting for our dossier to go to boca (very nervous about this part, seems odd it isn't there yet, but we are believing our agency is taking care of that) On the 30th of sept. we fly to some area in boca del toro, we have court on the Oct. 1. Now we have been told that we will stay in this area till the 5th or 6th, buy we are trying to find out why we have to stay there so long, we are also trying to find out 100% that TPR is done before we commit to going because lets face it one to many families have put their lives on the line just to find out TPR isn't done. Anyway that is all I know we have been trying to reach our agency all morning so as of now, we have made plans to go to Panama, but nothing officially scheduled till we hear more from our agency. We are very very excited and numb right now to say the least, but we have had alot happen to us in this process and trust very little and stay very garded (disrupted referral and to many possible "court dates" that never happened to count). I wish we could celebrate this more but until we have him on a plane back to the US we are crossing our fingers and praying praying praying.
As I promised, we will let you know everything that occurs in this process, please feel free to ask any questions. I will answer the best I can.
God Bless,
TanyaB

Congrats Tanya!! I know it's hard to rejoice when you're still holding your breathe. Like ya won't believe it til you see it. Just know our prayers are with you. Goodness knows you've been through hell and back already.

Let us know as soon as plans are firm. Big hugs to you, girlfriend.

It just doesn't seem real yet, does it? hehe

FANTASTIC!!! I absouletly understand your anxiety and not wanting to get excited. I did not take the tags off Rosa clothes until we had her. I think when you have the court date, you are in , just make sure about the abandonment, really big deal!! Get every shred of proof regarding this. Even if you think you are being to compulsive. I am so glad you are finally moving foward. Keep us posted. yh

Great news! It is so exciting to know that you are moving forward. We talked to the agency and one of the reasons that you have to wait so long is because it takes 3 full days after the resolution is signed for it to be considered legal. I don't know who all needs to sign before the 3 days start.

We are still waiting for our court date. The TPR was finally signed last week and they expect it to go to DNA on Thursday, 9/23. Then DNA sends it back to court for the final court date to be assigned. Don't have any idea how long that will take.

We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated on what is happening down there.

Congratulations!

Tanya, I am so happy for you! Do you know where you are staying in Bocas del Toro?and Panama City? I loved Bocas, my whole family did. There are internet cafes that are a couple of dollars an hour, maybe four at the most, so you'll be able to keep in touch. Make sure you take a general tour of the nearby islands and dolphin bay. There are people from all over the world that go there, one young couple from Amsterdam said it was their fourth trip. Try to do a caringbridge.org site so we can all see your journal and pictures. Good Luck! Leslie

We are on our way

It is official we are leaving Sept 23rd for Panama. I probably won't post again until our psych eval with the DNA on the 24th. Thank you all so much for your prayers, we need them and appreciate every bit of it I still am sticking to my philosophy, this is all in God's hands, not ours
Is anyone else on this forum in Panama right now? We are staying at the Country Inns, I will also let you know how that goes too.
I will keep you all posted.
Thoughts and Prayers,
Tanya
