We are still waiting for a travel date from our judge. Little delays, the kind that happen everyday- but are so frustrating when it comes to this adoption. But who knows-- maybe today everything and everybody will be where they are suppose to be.
I was speaking with my att. last night and she was telling me how much she believes in this new DNA. She tells me she was the director of Families with the old adminstration ( before the last President) and she was doing a good job with the orphanages. The orphanges run by the government need more space, more room... But she does think the children are cared for well.
Anyway- I thought she was encouraged by the prospect of this new administration- she said many times "things will get much better in 2 weeks". So I wanted to share that with everyone. I know what it is like to log on everyday, hoping to see something good or at least informative!

Yes, thanks for the posting. We also are still waiting for our travel date (final court date). Our agency believes the judge has all the information necessary to rule on the TPR now. There was alot of activity last week with the judge and information requested, so hopefuly that means they are starting to move on this. They hope to have a final ruling next week and our court date set. (We keep praying for that, but we know not to count on it.)
Of course all of our paperwork with USCIS (INS) expires in Oct, so we are busy getting everything re-submitted. (more money)

I will keep you posted on the events and hope that your attorney is right on the 2 weeks.

Hey, all. Before I start my gripe session, I just want to wish those of you sticking it out with Panama good luck! I hope that your cases progress and you find your little ones home in your arms soon.

As for my husband and I, we're done with Panama and cutting our financial and emotional losses. The supposed "fifth and final" TPR hearing that was SUPPOSED to be held on Thursday for the two sibs we found LAST SUMMER was yet again been postponed (no reason given to our attorney) and the court has no clue when it will be re-scheduled. (The first TPR hearing was in April!)

Our attorney thinks it's just the DNA, but we're convinced that it's the whole Panamanian adoption system which includes the judges--and it stinks! My gut tells me that even though everyone is promising that things will get better in a month, I'm afraid that it will just be more of the same.

And since we were giving Panama until this last TPR hearing (and no other children have been identified for us), we're plunging head-first into foster-to-adopt here at home. We've made inquiries on lots of sibling groups in the past couple of months, and we're finally starting to get some replies. So...we're done with Panama.

We are sorry to lose you and your insight into this forum; however, I totally understand your need to move on and the frustration that you have dealt with. It sounds very promising that you will be parenting children very soon and that was the goal.
