Panama/Colombia
Just to let you know there in an interesting thread on the Colombia forum. Someone posted that their agency (WPA) suggested they move from Panama to Colombia. Which is interesting because the wait for a referral in Colombia is 12-15 months. Does anyone have any more info on this?
Just thought I would share. Julie |

I can't speak to that, but my caseworker tried to get us to switch to "another Latin American country" over a month ago...and the only other LA country they do (for now) is Colombia. She said we could get a child faster if we switched. Maybe our agency has some ace in the hole in Colombia?
Course this comes from my caseworker...and most know how I much I trust her these days! LOL Robin |

I'll bet it's just because Colombia is much more predictable since they've been doing international (agency-facilitated) adoptions longer. Plus, with Panama being a real unknown right now--at least until the new administration is in place--maybe they are just more comfortable with Colombia.
Several months ago people on the Colombia board were saying that the wait (referral to bringing child home) was running 2 years! Then again, it COULD be that long for some of us by the time all things are said and done. Rebecca
