I need advice

Hello all..

I currently have a foster baby whose dad is Pegan/wiccan. With Christmas coming up I didnt know what would be an appropriate gift, if any thing.

I am not really familiar with pagan wiccan beliefs I am a christian and of course will be celebrating in accordance with my religion. I dont want to leave him out.

do pegan/wiccans celebrate christmas? If so what would be something that would be an appropriate gift?

Thank you for taking time to read this and give advice..

Shavon

Hi Sharon! We don't celebrate Christmas since Christmas is a Christian holiday. We celebrate the Winter Solstice, which falls on the first day of winter. We also call it Yule. You could buy/make him a natural tree ornament. Maybe find a pine cone and add a red velvet ribbon, maybe even a little glitter on the ends. Or you could find him something with the Sun on it, since we consider Yule to be a solar holiday. You could buy him a throw blanket with the Sun on it or a mug with a pretty Sun on it. If you really wanted to take it a step further, buy him a book about the Winter Solstice or maybe even a CD with Native American chants or Celtic meditations.

I congratulate you for wanting to include a pagan birth parent in your celebration and for being sensitive to his religion. Have a wonderful holiday!

Thank you so much for responding, I would never leave any one out no matter their beliefs. He is a wonderful dad who just made a huge mistake. I want to support him in any way that I can and that includes not "forgetting" him around the holidays..

again thank you so much..I have tryed to learn about wiccan/pegan beliefs but am having a hard time as there is not a lot of information on the net.

Try searching under Wicca, Pagan, and Paganism. You should get back a HUGE number of hits on the search engine. There are a lot of websites devoted to Wicca and Paganism.

You're welcome!

I agree with the PP, there are a lot of good websites dedicated to teaching people about Wicca. Just Google Wicca and see what you get. Be weary of websites giving out harmful information (like curses, etc.). Those kinds of practices are against Wiccan ethics and do not represent the true religion.

Good luck and happy holidays!
