KarynB came up with a great idea!
So I figured we could start an introductions list. Merry Meet, My name is Lola, and yes I can actually tell your age by which song just poped into your head so becareful. I'm 36 years old, soon to be 37, am married to a really wonderful man and have the pleasure of having our best friend living with us too. It's not all fun and games however since while I have 2 great guys around they are still guys and the level of help you get is in direct proportion to the level of frustrating male behavior you get. We are currently in the process of adopting a baby from Guatemala, a little boy, we've only just begun what seems to be at times a very long stressful journey. The paperwork and forms are intimidating to say the least. And we aren't even close to the readlly hard parts yet. I'm sure over the next few months you guys will get to hear my cries of frustration and help to get through it. In the Adopion Triad I cover 2/3rds I was adopted at birth in a private adoption, and have been searching for my Biological Mother off and on for quite awhile. I'm a soon to be adoptive mother and am frustrated at the difficulty to get any information on the Biological parents and hoping that we will at least be able to get some to offer our Son one day. I'm not a Biological Mother, however, I sort of feel like one (Absolutely no disrespect intedended to you ladies at all) as my husband has a daughter to whom we have always paid child support and have always thought of and loved. However due to her Mother's wishes we have never seen her nor had any contact. His daughter is nearly 18 and we are planning to contact her but it's a tad confused at times. And we do feel as there are similar issues to those faced by biological parents who have located a child and is nervous of first contact. So needless to say to all of you biological parents out there, my heart goes out to each and every one of you! I am Pagan, and for me at least that is the term I use, I am not Wiccan nor do I break it down any deeper than Pagan, just by personal choice. I've been extreamly blessed, I was an Army wife for 13 years, and have had the pleasure of living all over the US and in Korea and England both for a number of years. Currently we are in Maryland, though hopefully only for a couple of years more before we get to change that. Wow, don't I just sound formal and stuffy? YUCK! hehe anyway, it's great to meet you all and I'm so thankful to have this new forum opened to us all that I just can't wait to meet you! |

I will keep mine short and sweet.
My name is Leigh, bmom to a beautiful 28 month old bundle of energy girl who lives about 30-40 minutes away from me here in the NorthEast. We have an open adoption and are planning another visit soon. *I won't tell you my age because I want you to figure out the song in my head

Leigh, I always enjoy reading your posts because I love the Rent line in your signature. That song gets me at my core. That's the song in my head, but you won't derive my age from it!
I'm a mom to DD (5) and DS (3), who keep me pretty busy. I also teach high school social studies and help people with adoption profiles. I live in Denver and bleed Bronco orange and blue. I don't really have a religion. I just seek Truth. I was raised Christian, and I've delved into both the historical and the mystical Jesus. The gist of his sayings can be found in so many other scriptures and belief systems. Carolyn Myss calls these commonalities Truth with a capital T. It is my intention to live consciously and be present (this is so hard for me!). "There's only now, there's only here. Give in to love or live in fear."

Hi.. not telling my name because my agency doesn't want me sharing on public forums about my process..ugh! But I can say that Barry Manilow was the first concert I ever attended and I had a whole production out of his double album with copacabana as the finale!
I have a fabulous partner that I've been married to for 9.5 years. We are in the throws of a Guatemalan adoption. We are pagan and are excited about being pagan parents. We honor others paths as we honor our own and believe we can learn from everyone. I just ordered "pagan homeschooling" and am curious about that..as well as learning how to incorporate our more extended family into our lives as the arrival of the baby will bring them in droves. Family tends to gravitate together during traditional holiday times and we need to learn how to navigate those waters while staying true to ourselves. Just curious... on your homestudy..did you say you were pagan? We are one

When I saw the Tony awards on TV in 96 they were on to sing "A Year In A Life" and said I had to see it. I have seen it numerous times and even got my grandmother to go a couple of years ago. I am a Renthead and I got another friend of mine into Rent as well.

I actually did, mostly because we are having uor Homestudy done by an agency that normally would NOT touch us. They are a christian families ONLY agency and I was worried they might hold it against us in the Homestudy. But since the Social Workers are a seperate enity we've been assured it wont be an issue. |

Hi everyone! Merry Meet!
I'm Amy and I'm 30. I've been married to an amazing man for 18 months now and we're in the process of adopting our first child from Guatemala. I grew up in a Christian home, went to a Christian high school and 2 Christian colleges! After my previous marriage fell apart and 4 years of infertility, I realized that I had some major things that were in need of change within myself. That journey, somehow LOL, led me to Paganism. I consider myself Wiccan, though, I've yet to commit to a tradition (though, I lean toward Celtic). My husband has had leanings toward Paganism and is identifying with it more now. I'm a writer, stay at home wife, mom to two dogs and proud Army wife (though, many days I'm not so happy with the Army). My hubby will be off to what we term the sandbox soon, so the majority of this adoption will be done while we're in two different countries ... should be interesting. Sorry to make it so long! Very happy to have this forum!

Intro...
Hello or HOWDY... (yes we are from Texas)
I am 35 and my wonderful hubby is 32. My 14 yr old stepson lives with us along with our fur daughter, Akasha. (meow, meow) We have been in the adoption world forever it seems. I am very tired of the rollercoaster ride and I want off. Our Guatemalan daughter was 8 days old when we accepted her referral and she is currently almost 14 months old. Our process has been &@**! This past weekend we went to the Renaissance Festival. (AWESOME!!!) And I had my cards read---the reader was "on" about sooo much. But she kept saying our daughter was not born yet??? (I am curious if perhaps we have the "wrong" daughter) Since our journey has been sooo extreme. Most recently kicked out of PGN on 10/6 for Birthmother's signatures not matching...... Well anyway..... Nice to meet ya'll. ![]()

I need to get my cards read again. It has been a number of years since my last reading and she was dead on and I live close to Salem but just need to find someone to go with me since I get a weird feeling going by myself.

I know this isn't an introduction LOL
Dixiebell ... I have a thought on your reading. Background first. I had a reading, actual a palm reading, a while back and she (who happened to be an acquaintance) told me that my then boyfriend was not the one for me, but that the man I found would be IT. Well, I lost it because I was so in love. I talked at length with my cousin (who'd been with me) about my boyfriend because we had some weird history and were having communication problems (he was stationed in Korea). Well, after a lot of meditation and deep thought, I realized that what was meant by her comment and what she saw was that my boyfriend as he was was not that man for me, BUT that the man he was becoming WAS the man for me. We haven't been married forever, but it will be two years in March. Maybe what she "saw" in the cards was not the physical birth, but the birth into your family and her new life here with you. Make sense at all? Just maybe another way to think on things. I really hope to hear good news from you soon, will you keep me updated??

Just wanted to say Hello!
We are 37 & 39 with no kids. We do have a cat and dog that I take pictures of dressed in holiday outfits that I send out as cards. I know, my poor pets. We are going to start the adoption process after the new year. I really am having the most difficult time waiting to get started. Now that you all know I'm a crazy lady that dresses her pets, I say to you - Hello, and I look forward to getting to know you. |

hi there!
Wow it's great to see this board started! Was just poking through and very suprised.
A CA biological and adoptive mom here to two boys, age 14 and 3. My family has an open adoption relationship with our son's birth family. Hubby and I are parenting a child with high-functioning autism. We are also going to start foster-adopt process sometime soon. We started it last year but put it off due to needing some emotional down time and then again because we moved. Now we're recovering from the move lol! My hubby is atheist and I'm earth-centered and have found a happy community ith the Unitarian Universalists. So so so glad to see all of you here!!!

Hello everybody
Hi, my husband and I are Pagan and looking to adopt siblings from Russa. We're at the stage where the only thing stopping us is financing--every time we start to move forward, something happens and we have to put our plans on hold a little while longer. Beyond that, has anyone here had any problems with being Pagan and trying to adopt? Also, any experience with older children and introducing them to Paganism?

Exactly my thoughts when I read the post regarding "daughter not yet born"! Must mean that she hasn't been brought to her forever family yet.
