Can you explain...

What the pagan religion is? Not being sarcastic or anything like that at all ladies. I'm not particularily religious in any way, but interested in what other people believe. I like to learn about other religions. Can anyone explain what rituals are?

Asking in all honesty (and as Mandy w/0 the moderator hat on!).

hehe ... Paganism is an umbrella term used to describe many non-mainstream religions

At least that was the description I used to offer when asked by the clergy on base when I was asked to become a lay-leader. (Basically the priest type person for the Pagan folks on base)

However, since I feel like I know you at least from the weekly chat and Guat messageboards I'll try to be a bit less general

A ritual can be anything from really in depth (Think something along the lines of Midnight Mass) to something very simple like lighting a candle and saying a prayer or spell. Spells are pretty much a prayer usually.

Pagans often don't believe in 'God, Jesus, the Father the son the wholy spirit' as such, often times they prefer The Lord and the Lady, or The Spirit, or a few other terms.
