He has often been asked "Where did you get them?" as if there is some type of grocery store for mixed kids! He finally started saying "From my wife's groin." He's trying to get less upset but I guess that happens with so many Asian adoptions here in America.

Filipino/caucasian babies are probably just as acceptable as full Filipinos in the Philippines, if not more so. The Philippines has a strong colonial mentality, having been colonized by the Spanish for hundreds of years, and then the Americans for the first half of the 20th Century. Therefore, "mestizos or mestizas," those mixed with white blood, are considered more beautiful.

A full blooded Filipino can also have a lot of Spanish blood from the colonizers - some of my Filipino relatives have green eyes, brown wavy hair, and caucasian features. So you might luck out and get a "full blooded" Filipino with some Spanish (caucasian) features.

I too am Filipina American with a white Russian/Jewish husband. Ideally, we'd like a Filipino baby with some caucasian features mixed in, but he would be happy to have a full blooded Filipino.

We adopted our daughter at birth. The birthmother lives about 40 miles from us and the birthfather is in another state. Our daughter happens to be Filipino/Caucasion. Our adoption just fell in our laps, we were not looking so it is possible to find this "mix" right here!

Well said! There were many a times when I was younger when I would get very miffed hearing that "so & so is so beautiful...she's mestiza!" I always thought - "what am I? Chopped liver?" Never mind that my mother's side of the family is of Chinese/Spanish/Japanese descent with probably not a drop of Malay (one of the original Filipino natives). The Spanish ancestry just goes back a generation too far apparently.

I too would like to have a Filipino/Caucasian baby because I am Filipino & DH is German/English American. But because we're finding that Filipino adoptions may be very difficult, we are looking at adopting in China.

As far as Asian or Oriental? I didn't even know "oriental" was un-PC until I moved to California. As long as you're not meaning to intentionally insult me - I could care less.
