adoption while in process of migrating to US
hope you can help me. My husband who is a US citizen, has filed a petition for me (k3) and my daughter (his step-daughter K4).
While he was here in the Philippines in January, we filed for JOINT ADOPTION for my daughter. (Joint adoption because the law requires me, the biological mother to adopt my own child so that I wont lose parental rights over my daughter) I was not married to my daughter's biological father. Our petition has been recently approved by BCIS and am currently waiting for appointment interview letter from the US embassy manila. Since we have a pending adoption case right now, will this affect my being granted a visa? Does the US embassy in Manila allow people to leave for US with pending court cases in the Philippines? We have not attended the court hearing yet and i know for a fact, it will be scheduled after my appointment interview at the embassy. Please help. We are willing to withdraw the case before i go to my interview at the embassy. |

US Embassy in Manila
If you are in the Philippines you may try to call this number. Don't think that your eligibility will affect when you call them.
