My husband and I are about to have our homestudy approved (throught Wide Horizons) and need to finalize what country we are adopting from. Our decision has come down to Korea and the Philippines. We love what we've heard about the Philippines program, but prefer to adopt a very young infant which we've heard isn't always the case.
What are people's experiences with how young children are when they come home from the Philippines? (I hope this question is phrased legibally, I am a Master's student and I've been writing for 12 hours!! Time to eat dinner!) Stephanie |

if you like to know more about the Philippine Inter-country Adoption program, visit http://skyinet.net/~icaba/ and your queries may be answered. You are now working with Wide Horizon and that is one of the ICAB accredited USA based adoption agency. your are in good hands. hope you will pursue your Philippine inter-country adoption plan.

Newborn filipino baby avail in US in 2004
Hi, we will have a newborn filipino baby (or < 1 or 2 mo old baby) that we wish to give for adoption in approx May 2004 timeframe.
Baby will likely be born in Pennsylvania. Parents of this child have already produced intelligent, good-looking children. Please inquire for more details; we are looking for loving couple who will make this baby part of their family. There is no expectation of future visits from natural birthparents. Jake |

Newborn Filipino child
I am just wondering if the child is of Filipino parentage (i.e. both parents are Filipino)? Are they immigrants in USA or naturalized American citizens? How did you know about this Filipino child to be born by May 2004?

Age of Philippines' babies
Hi Stephanie,
I'm not sure where you are in process now. I"m just starting myself (beginning home study with Wide Horizons). I've been told they're mostly 10 months-2 years, but I've been told that 10 months is more rare than the norm. Where are you in the process now? JoAnn |

Hi Stephanie,
WE used WHFC for our adoption. We were going to adopt through the PI, had our homestudy sent over and everything. But since we had 3 sons already and were hoping for a little girl 0-2 yrs, our wait was going to be very long. That was ok, untik we started looking at the waiting children from Korea. WE traveled to Korea in Aug. to bring home our Emma who was 8 1/2 months old at the time. SHe's One today. The babies in the PI are not even eligible to be placed fop adoption until they are 6 months old. It is a longer wait for girls than for boys. Hope this helps Shelley |
