We both work full-time and would continue to do so out of economic necessity (we're comfortable but not wealthy). I could take off three months or so with an adopted child, but not permanently. Will that be held against me? We are open to international adoption or a child up to age 5 or so. What do you think?

Many of us on these boards have to work. I'm a single mom, and I was fortunate to be able to take off three months when my little boy came home from Romania. After that, he stayed at home with my sister caring for him for a couple of more months, and then he started at a daycare center. As far as I know, continuing to work isn't considered a drawback at all. Good luck!!
