Loveajax, congratulations on joining the Wise Women League! I think the hardest birthday I ever had was my 40th, for some reason. My 50th birthday didn't sting near as much as that 40th one.

The one thing I didn't like in my 40's was how all the grocery-store clerks asked me if I wanted the bagger to take my groceries to my car for me, lol. Oh, yeah, and how all of a sudden it seemed like everybody was calling me "Ma'am".

The 40's can be awesome, kiddo!

I only had a little twinge at 40 as I didn't have any physical symptoms of er///aging.... When I hit 50...man.i was not a happy camper..AARP was stalking ME....I was so insulted. AARP is for OLD people not me even though my knees hurt and am running out of energy. Actually just turned 51 this year and am really scared. It was a little ok to say " I just turned 50", now I have to say "I am in my fifties...ick..... I am REALLY trying to live my the mantra...its only a number, itsonlyanumberitsonlyanumber.

Lovejax...40 is really a good age. I kinda liked my forties too.

40 will be great, but I will tell you at 39 I felt 25 and at 40 I felt..... well 40! Then one day I realized, I wouldn't be 25 again for anything. I just take my tylenol and enjoy that I am forty and wiser than when I was 25, or 39 for that fact. lol

Just think of it at the 11th anniversary of your 29th birthday.

Signed,
Ed (who's not any wiser at 45 than I was at 39, just a whole lot more tired)

I am enjoying my 40's more than any other decade. I feel more confident and now that I have a son, I even feel younger!

Enjoy this new chapter of your life. May it be the best one, yet!

Happy birthday, love!!!

Every once in a while I peek over at this thread...I have 3 1/2 more years until I'm an "official" member, and I figured I'd prep myself little by little. Baby steps...

Anyway, if anything will keep you young, it's a little one and a puppy!!!

Happy Birthday LA!

You know, I don't really mind being in my 40's. I'm actually sort of enjoying them. But, BUT, why don't they tell you about the facial hair, the gray hair sprouting in (in disconcerting places), the sudden effects of gravity setting in and the hot flashes. Still, I'm having a good time.

TGM...I agree...BRAT!
