When I can still chase my 3 year old down the mall but may not catch up to him as quickly as I used too.

When I sit down to watch tv after the kids are in bed and I fall asleep on the couch.

When I bend down my knees now make noise.

When you are chasing your kids down the mall and you can't catch your breath as quickly LOL

You want to take a nap at the same time your child does just so you can catch up on some sleep

You have patience

When I take my four year old to the potty while we are at the store saying she needs to at least try so we don't have an accident, when in reality I am the one in danger of having an accident!

Hello I read your post and thought I'd introduce myself. I am a 43 year old wife who has been trying to get pregnant for 5 years with many losses. Although we won't give up, we'd like to start looking into adoption but do not know where to begin, I joined this site tonight, lol,,,,,that's my start. YOu know your over 40 when singing the bedtime lullabies and you find you are falling alseep, or better yet you forgot the words and have to hum the rest.

You know you are over 40 when you FINALLY got that baby to sleep and you tip toe ever so lightly and gently lean over and as the bed sqeaks you hold your breath hoping the baby doesn't wake, And she doesn't , so you lay her down, cover her up and start to slowly stand erect only to hear this incredible loud cracking that wakes the baby into a full scream and you realize it was your knees.

Second part

You know your over 40 when you go for your adoption physical and asa result you spend the next year seeing "ologist" more than you next door neighbor. ....gynocologist, urologist, endrocronologist, cardiologist.

you go out of Wal-Mart and forget where you parked the car

you almost put the milk in the cabinet and the cookies in the fridge

a Girls Night out starts at 4 pm and ends at 10pm!

a fun Saturday night is playing with your child(ren) then sitting down and watching HGTV after they are in bed!

I have only been 40 for 10 days (but who's counting!) but I think it will be the best decade of my life as I watch my son grow!!!
