Tuesday Fun

What was your most embarrassing car moment (keep it clean)?

I am at a stop light and the car stalls. I try to start it and start it and traffic is backing up behind me. Horns are blaring and I am frantically trying to start the car. I then find my phone and call to get the car towed. While I am waiting a nice young man offered to help push the car out of the way. That is when I realized I had never put the car in park. So the car started right up instantly. All I could do was laugh and drove away as fast as I could.

When I was in college and helped with the youth group at church, I had to pick up the 7th graders after school one Wednesday. Here I was in the big 15 passenger church van and it stalls. I couldn't get it to start either and a 7th grade boy finally says, "you have to put it in park first, do you know how to drive?"

LOL! I drove a 5 speed, it didn't have park!

What's even worse than that. One time I was going to visit my now dh. He lived 5 hrs away. I couldn't get the car to start. I was at the state border rest stop and called both dh (who was finace at the time) and my dad. Both came, after my dad got there, he realized I once again, didn't have the car in park. I spent 5 hours at the stop waiting for him! Fortunately, he wasn't mad at me! I had taken my Mom's car and so I once again used the excuse, "my car doesn't have P for park!"

When I was a child I used to get motion sickness pretty regularly. I was a pre-teen going to summer camp with people from a neighboring church (whom I didn't know before that day). I got terribly car sick on the way and we had to stop so I could throw up.

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!

My first one is I was driving my step daughters car and they failed to tell me that it does not go into gear easily (5 speed). It has been years since I drove a 5 speed so here I am in the middle of our main hwy thru town and I can not get the stupid thing in gear. Sheriff pulls up behind me to see what the problem is and I am so embarrased to tell him I can't get it into gear. I finally get it and I am able to leave. This is a small town where everyone knows everybody. All the sheriffs, police and DPS know my husband, so he was soon informed of my misshap and I have never lived it down.

Now for the second one, since I blew my van up I am driving an old Chevy El Camino. Well Hubby put an electric fuel pump on it and it is now either going out or has a short in it. So to keep it running I have to keep my foot on the gas at all times. I have to brake with my left foot. If I get stuck behind a slow car, my car will die in the middle of the road. It happened 5 times today when I was going to the store. It would not have been so bad if the kids were not there and getting upset everytime it died.

Locking my keys in my car and having a really hot guy come to my rescue. It was embarrassing because he thought I was a complete dork for locking my keys in there!!! I was 19 at the time..

Well, not exactly a car moment persay, but it happened IN a car....

I had gone grocery shopping and was going to get back in the car. I stumbled a bit and grabbed onto the pole of the cart corral that I parked next to. My keys were in my hand and the car key got stuck in the groove of the pole, causing it to bend.

So I'm in the car waiting for dh to come give me the extra key. He's an hour away, so had a long wait. I'd already gotten coffee & walked around. Now I'm bored and just sitting in the car.

I decided to take advantage of the bright sunlight and do some "facial tweezing". (I said I WAS BORED!) I notice a nose hair that just does not have any business whatsoever being there and take care of it, when my eye catches a movement next to me.

It's a teen employee getting the carts out of the corral and he's just standing there staring at me with at "WHAT THE HECK!?" look on his face. I kind of wave a little and he is sooo embarrassed and just takes off.

I don't know who was more embarrassed...me getting caught nose plucking or him having to see it. LOL!

OK..after I stopped laughing about Cricks nose pickin story.......

I had a white Toyota Corolla...very common car...went to the store and came out to leave (it was like 95 degrees and i was hot and tired) and went to put the key in to unlock...would not work. Tried 2 more times...nothing. Called my DH to come and help me and by now I am irritated beyond words....A policeman pulls up and asks what the problem is so I tell him the key will not work in the lock and my husband is on his way. He asks me if I know the plate number. I start to tell him and he starts to laugh and sure enough...it was NOT my car! I had parked about 5 rows over. Not my best day!

Confession: I car dance

not like a little bit or nonchalantly, like seriously. it's intense.

while I am not embarrased by this, my passengers sometimes are.
