Thank you all!!!! Actually, I had basically forgotten about this thread; and it was weird to see that it had been almost ONE YEAR since I started it!

Soooo much has happened....and Thanking God that we are more than one year from the incidents that shaped where we are now.
The good news is that even though we don't have a lot of money set aside (as we usually had when planning to adopt), we are going to continue and 'go for it'. Our two youngest are doing fine and dandy, and life is going very well now! (Thank God!!!! )

Our agency supervisor is hoping that she'll be able to come out to our home this week to begin updating our homestudy again! Woo-hoo!!!!!!

Of course, like everyone else, we hope our wait won't be too long. Eighteen months has been the longest, thus far. We are searching for another AA baby....and we're ALL anxiously awaiting to see what God has in store for us! Hopefully this means another wee one.

Sincerely,

Linny

Hi Linny,
I was one of the first to post WAAAAAY back also. Glad to hear your looking again. We finalized on one child (no babies here, by choice not age!) and are ready to start pre-placement visits on another soon.
Good Luck in your next quest & remember "patience"

Oh, thank you, Robin! I truly appreciate those kind comments, and also from you, 'wanda'.
Our agency is almost done updating our homestudy, (with the agency's approval) we've already sent our profiles to a few attorneys and agencies, besides the ones we were already working with in years past; and now, we'll just wait....ahhhhh, waiting it out.

Our agency is small, but I know from experience, that if God intends to put another wee one here, He can do pretty BIG things!!!

Sincerely,

Linny

DH was 50 when our son was born and we adopted him...that was 2 years ago, and DH can easily be found on the floor playing with him or even sliding down his little slide (what a sight that is!)
I think having a 1st child is so much more difficult than adding to an existing family. DS will be 2 yo on Sunday and can be VERY demanding for a playmate at times...which is either myself of DH...
So, no...49 is NOT too old if you don't feel it...
Don't let the troubles your family has gone through lately deflate your enthusiasm to expand your family!

Thumbs up 52

I am 52 my husband 58. We have 4grown children and 7and 1/2 grandchildren.
Adopting was a trully God thing! We are excepting our little Grace Wednesday night she arrives from Haiti.: She is 13 months. From very begginning to end it has been 16 months. We got out of IBESR aug 4.It has been a roller coaster ride with Haiti. But when she is here it wont matter.
I think it matters how you feel. Physically I think were both young. Also I have great support from my children. I also think when your older you have so much more wisdom and experience. The cares of life dont bother you as much.
We are so waiting for wednesday night!!! email me if you have questions!!!!

I just wanted to add too.......I started this thread some time ago, asking the question of its title. Dh and I are both 49yrs old....and this is not our first baby adoption; but it seems the older one is, the more it seems that everything works in the right order and at His timing.

God bless all of you still waiting....

Most Sincerely,

Linny

What did you decide to do? My husband and I are trying to adopt our first child and we are both over 50.
