I'm a JW & brought DD home from Guat 1 year ago. My HS included mention of me being a JW & I was even surprised to see it included in the Guat HS report given to me on pickup. I never once had a problem because of the blood issue.

I know of a JW couple that adopted from Korea & the adoption was almost stopped because of the blood issue. They met with the Hospital Liaison Committee & got them to write a letter similar to one they would write to doctors if a child was in the hospital & the doctors were pressuring for blood. That was acceptable & they've had their DS home for 2 years now.

I grew up in a Jehovah's Witness household. My dad was an elder and my mom was a reg. pioneer (for a few of my chidhood years). My grandfather was the presiding overseer and my grandmother was a reg pioneer for a little over 20 years. My father was a 4th generation JW.
I grew up, read the Bible, did lots of Biblical research, and made a choice. I am now Presbyterian.

JWAdopt

There is a Yahoo Group called JWAdopt , for witnesses who have adopted or are in the process. It is very helpful.

I am a JW as well, and we adopted our son through Los Angeles county, he is such a sweet heart and we had no issues with his adoption, we were asked out religion, but that was it. We are so happy and plan on adopting at least 2 more boys
