Hi Everyone, we are the Defacto Parents of our little almost 8 months little girl, our baby was placed in our home after asking all members of her family to keep her, no one came to stay with the baby, mom is going to be TPR in August, Dad is not in her picture, the person who came after 8 months to have our baby, rejected our little one more than 15 times, now she changed her mind, our baby is considered special baby because she was born drug exposed, we have done everything that it takes to help our girl. Tomorrow we are going to court, they are going to review placement, we are hoping that the baby stays with us, we are the only family she has, (mom is in jail and lost her other 2 children already). PLEASE, Pray for our little girl, she is doing so good.

Thanks for all the prayer. Court did not go well, the baby's attorney drop the case because she had conflict w/our case. The great aunt never spent time w/our baby, but when she saw us in court she cried like a baby, I asked her why it took all this time to come for the baby, and why she rejected our baby so many times, she did not have any answer. I told her we are not there to take any baby away from families, she came to our home knowing that no-one wanted her, and that we only want what is best for the baby, and we leave everything in Gods heads and the judge. Court appointed the attorney that the great aunt has, and next court would be June 18 and 19. Please keep us in your prayers.

This is something that I think needs some changes. If the family members want the child they should have to take them ASAP. And if they reject the child more than once then that should be the end of their chances. I found out after baby C left that the aunt, who had her sisters, was planning on leaving her with us until TPR then they would take her. This should be against the law.

Our baby is almost 10 months, and we have another court day on the 26th to review her placement, we are just praying that the judge decides soon, we are under so much strees. This needs to end, for the well being of our baby and our sanity, my family and everyone is praying for this to be over soon. Our little Angel needs to stay home with us. Our prayers and thoughts are with her and you, too. Take heart, the ss agency and the court chose to keep her with you for these last two months when they could have moved her. Also, every day longer she spends with you is another day vesting her best interest with you. As hard as waiting and delays are, time is on your baby's side if her best interest is with you.

You sound like a kind and loving person so you may be able to imagine without knowing what they were that there were reasons this great Aunt did not step forward sooner. They may or may not have been "good" reasons, but they were surely human. I don't mean to say that that those reasons override the baby's best interest now at all, just that she doesn't have to be a bad person for it to not be in baby's interest to move and that her stepping forward now is probably well intended and not meant to hurt the baby or your family. It's very possibly the opposite: that she has shaken whatever caused her hesitancy and wants to do the right thing by the baby and take the responsibility for her family member off the shoulders of others.

I know the delays and more court dates are hard, but they are working in your favor. The longer the baby is with your family the better. Pray for the family and the judge to have wisdom and realize that the child deserves to be with you and the only family she knows.

We are praying and praying and so far our baby still in our home, thank GOD, Monday we are going to court, our SW told us this is the day for TPR, please keep us in your prayers, we are going with a very positive attitude, we have faith this is going to be good, for the love of our baby and for her best interest, is going to be good.

Update: We are very happy, I can not express how we feel, God has heared our prayers. The Family that wanted our baby decided not to fight for her anymore. Monday we have court to tpr, and just wait for any apeal, if no other family comes forward, we will have our baby for ever at the end of the year. THANK YOU GOD and all of you that prayed for us.
