Wow! I just now noticed this thread. I had posted a thread a little while ago and it looks like we are asking the same questions, just from different angles.
I would like to find a couple that would allow us (the birthparents) to be like extended family. We would love to be just like an extra set of grandparents. We would like for the couple to call on us when they need a babysitter, invite us to tee ball games, dance recitals or whatever. I was wondering if that was asking too much. I wasn't sure how adoptive parents would feel about that. We are in our forties and just not in a position to actually raise this baby. However, we still want to be a part of our child's life.
