I think your right.When I adopted my son It was open.I wonted it that way because he has 2 half brothers.When they get older and the questions start he wont have to wonder or do any searching.Matter of fact she sends pictures of his brothers and I send pictures of the child I have.We even have phone contact.She even sent the child some clothes.I think most people are scared of open adoption due of the fear of the mother wonting the child back.My son has meet her 1 time and we called her aunt and her name.She loves her son but she was haveing alot of diffrent kind of problems at the time.
