guelph 02/19/1971 - looking for bfamily
I was born in Guelph at the Guelph General Hospital and my adoption was handled by the Guelph Children's Aid Society. I believe my birth surname was Durling. I was born February 19, 1971. If you think we might be related, I'd be thrilled to hear from you! My email address is binder@freespace.net
Good luck to all searching! Last edited by binder : 11-27-2002 at 04:22 PM. |

I was also born (August 19 1970) at Guelph General and adopted through children's aid.
I applied for my non-indetifing info through Children's aid and then applied for them to do a search for my bparents. While it took them 8 years to get to my file, when they did, they found my birth mother within 8 months. Have you done all of this yet? It really helps the searching process.

Yes, I've done all that 14 years ago yesterday. Over a year ago, they said they were finally starting my search but I have heard nothing since.

support, opened sealed records?
Hi, are you familiar with the canadian councel of natural mothers? CCNM. There a men who are also involved in fighting this cause. Both adoptees and birth parents apealing to our MMPs to pass the right to have sealed adoption records opened to adults. We are all waiting too long to know where our children/parents are. Many have pass away never knowing the truth of why they were surrendered /tricked into adoption.canadaadoption search.co, you will be emailed every week as many other people start doing their searching. If there is a match you would be notified. please let others know about this site. I have been waiting 31- 1/2 yrs.

excellent search resource-Canada
Hi,
I recently found my friend's birthmom by using the Might's City Directories- these are more than ordinary phone books- they list all persons over 18 living at each address, as well as their occupation. City Directories can be found at most libraries. If you have your birthmom's last name, look it up in the Might's City Directory for the city where she lived in the year you were born. Especially helpful if you have non-id info regarding her occupation (or her parents' or siblings' occupations). Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you. I am not a search angel, but I learned a lot searching for my friend's mom and found her in approx. one month. Best of luck to all. |
