Do you have to wait until the adoptee is 18? What are the requirements? I have a friend who would be VERY interested in this.

hi Julianna : If you go to the web site serviceontario it will explain it all to you.Yes the adoptee has to be 18 yrs.of age before you can search.i suppose you can search just no agency will give you info until the age of 18.

Thanks - I looked at it. My friend's adoption of her son took place there - He is 16 1/2... They promised to keep in touch with the birthmother, but after a couple of years, birthmother disappeared. They continue to contact the agency, but they have no forwarding info, and the bmom has not contacted them. So they are hoping to find her, in case she is out there wondering why she's hearing nothing... (they only know her first name...)

I gave her the info, so maybe in a year and a half... Thanks for sharing!
