Looking for brother (who may not know I exist)

Hi,

I am looking for my full brother, born June 5, 1979 or 1980. I know he was born at Joseph Brant hospital in Burlington Ontsrio. He was possibly adopted into a family in Mississauga. That is all I know unfortunately.

That brings me a general question. With just this information, how realistic is it that I may find him. I have no name. I don't even have solid facts. I don't know where to go with this.
Thanks for all your help.
Jen

re: looking for brother

Were you adopted as well, or do you know the names of your birth parents? Have you contacted the adoption registrar to see if you can get info such as the adoption agency involved? they told me which agency I was adopted from by giving them very basic information (the names of my adoptive parents, name of hospital, date of birth).
You might be entitled to non-identifying information and there is a sample letter you can follow on http://www.canadianadopteesregistry.org
You should also register at that site as the sibling looking for an adoptee - they can post your listing under both years since you are unsure of the year of birth.

I was not adopted, my mother kept me, and divorced my dad when I was concieved. My brother is from both my mom and 'father' I found out my brother was adopted privately as well. He was adopted to a family through the church they went to. My mom says she doesn't know the family name. does any of this make a difference? Thanks for replying to my post.
