Hello everyone,
I have a question. Does anyone know how Lutheran Social Services handles the homestudy/social worker issue when you have not completed the classes but have submitted all the paperwork for the homestudy. I will not go into an explanation of why I have not completed my MAPP classes; it suffices to say that it was a mistake on the part of the agency but it will be corrected by mid-February. Anyways, I have submitted all of my homestudy paperwork AND have completed half of the MAPP classes. I have not been contacted at all from a social worker or anything. I know that it is the holiday season but I am just concerned that most people seem to already have a social worker or at least has been contacted by one. MY GENERAL QUESTION FOR EVERYONE IS 'AT WHAT POINT DID THE SOCIAL WORKER CONTACT YOU OR WHEN DID YOU FIND OUT THAT A SOCIAL WORKER HAD BEEN ASSIGNED TO YOU?' Thanks, Lisa |

When we signed on with our agency, we were assigned one immediately. She did the home study and provided all assistance throughout the entire process.
Sorry that this hasn't been the case with you!

Agency question
I'd suggest you directly contact LSS and ask someone there, a supervisor, directly.

We worked with YSS and she handled everything for us. I have a friend who is with LSS and she handles all her own cases. We do our own handling of the social worker. Had a DHS worker out of another county who gave us the shaft, but in county I haven't had any problem. See what happens is you get way tooooooo many Cooks and not enough family and you end up ruinning the soup. Our last one went that way. No body knew anything but everyone knew everything. Three counties involved - no good. Once you make a few mistakes you know what to do next time.
